GARDENING GROUPS OF ABOUND COMMUNITIES

On Monday 11th of July there was a cross village meet and greet with 2 Rushall Park residents attending Leith Park.

The objective of this meeting was so the newly founded resident garden group at Rushall Park can see how our established Leith Park Garden group operates, and the wonderful projects that both residents and staff at Leith Park have been a part of.

Besides the wealth of knowledge that was shared from both groups, it was also a fantastic opportunity to work cooperatively amongst our wider Abound community. It was beneficial to see both groups working together and making a day trip to Rushall Park to share experiences and projects in Spring.

Jane has been such an important and inspiring person with her involvement and passion for our gardening group in Leith Park. From organising and achieving exceptional grants, to her knowledge and guidance, we deeply appreciate it.

The residents, Jane, our Gardener Rick, Communications Officer Michelle, and others all gathered and had a lovely morning tea and discussed stories. The meet and greet also lead us to go for a walk to have a look at projects around Leith Park.

Thank you, Jon, Jane, and the team for organising this event.

Thank you to Mal and Elke for coming to Leith Park and spending some time with our Leith Park gardening group. We look forward to seeing you again.

Volunteering is important to Deb, enabling her to contribute in the aged care sector. “I love it when the residents get downright cheeky. I love it when we get a bit too loud with laughing."
