bequests
One of the most important and generous gifts we can give is a gift to the future. Abound Communities was founded in this spirit with a gift of land in 1869 and over the years others have taken up the giving mantle.
Anne Jeffery certainly understood the importance of giving. As a former secretary at Abound Communities, she saw the value of our work first hand. She made the decision to leave a special gift so that future generations could continue to receive our care. Anne’s bequest helped fund the dementia unit at Liscombe House, Abound Communities’s aged care facility at St Helena.
Even small bequests can make a big difference. You can leave;
- A specific sum of money
- A percentage of your estate
- A non-monetary gift like real estate or shares
- The residue of your estate after distribution of gifts to other beneficiaries
Whichever option is right for you we recommend you discuss your intentions with your loved ones and legal advisor. This will help ensure that your wishes are carried out the way you want.
Also, please consider telling us if you are thinking about a bequest. Knowing in advance helps us plan for the future and allows us to acknowledge your generosity in your lifetime. Of course, we will always respect your right to privacy and anonymity.
If you have included Old Colonists’ Association of Victoria in your Will, would like further information about legal wording, or would like to have a confidential conversation please contact:
