Did you know that we had 205 volunteers working across all our villages and in Liscombe House? Their contribution to our work is extraordinary and is valued by residents and staff alike.
The volunteers are aged from 18 to 92, and are working in music therapy, one-on-one visits to residents, pet therapy, men’s groups, outings, church services, exercise, IT support, meditation, and so on the activities go.
One of the more recent projects is the work that volunteers have been to support Rushall Park residents record their life stories.
The project is far more than a walk down memory lane. Repeated research studies reveal that writing life stories has immense psychological and health benefits. Depression and anxiety decrease, mood lifts and general wellbeing and quality of life improve.
Each volunteer makes a major contribution to our mission, and our values of recognising, appreciating and caring for our seniors.
We salute you all!
