AN UPDATE FROM JON

Abound Communities Property Manager

Property is a large portfolio in Abound Communities operations with differing site-specific complexities.

Rushall Park renovations and works were put on hold for several months whilst we sorted out work exemptions with Heritage Victoria. Since we have been granted some exemptions and engaged a consultant, we have been able to recommence some of these dormant jobs. Some of these works include roof replacements in Henty Avenue, foundational underpinning in Pohlman Avenue, and the continuation of cottage renovations.

Leith Park will commence a large refurbishment of our Liscombe House Aged Care Facility shortly, whilst we work towards achieving a successful accreditation at the end of the year.

Braeside Park is well in the swing of the rebranding and has our new Abound Communities signage up on Clyde Road for residents of the City of Casey to see while they commute. We were also able to repair a longstanding water leak issue in the community room and replaced the floor covering with new hybrid floorboards.

Currie Park is undergoing an energy assessment audit to highlight areas where we can minimise our carbon footprint whilst maintaining warmth in Winter and cool temperatures in Summer. Works are also close to completion in our community room upgrade with the purchase of sheds, a greenhouse, a computer, and other items to encourage resident activities in that communal space.
