Keeping Braeside Park’s veggie garden growing

April 28, 2019

May Hedin moved to Braeside Park in 2010 and, immediately, knew she had found her home. She has her hands in many of the village’s events and most recently, is the person behind the edible garden.

In the garden beds she grows rhubarb, cucumber, beans, beetroot, sliver beet and tomatoes. She distributes the vegies and much of it goes to the kitchen to be used for residents’ meals.

The apartments are beautiful, with lovely, open and bright rooms, and a balcony for growing plants in pots. I am starting to make my apartment into a home.
