Leith Park’s new development set to open

March 7, 2019

Leith Park’s stunning new multi-million dollar development is set to open in the coming months and one and two bedroom apartments are now available.
The 27 apartments in the Stage 1 development will open mid-year and some apartments have already been allocated to people keen to move into OCAV’s St Helena village.

Tim Scott, OCAV’s Chief Operating Officer said the apartments in the three story development were stunning in their design, décor, layout, facilities and location.

“Every time I walk in I am struck by what a lovely home each apartment will become for those people who have already committed to join us,” Tim said. “Every apartment is beautiful inside and also has a balcony, offering a lovely outdoor area, with an enviable view of native trees and gardens.”

Stage 2 of the development will open in the first half of next year with 19 one and two bedrooms apartments.  Please contact Karen Ernest (details below) for further information.

The apartments have some outstanding features, including:

•  Designs to ensure ageing in the home for as long as possible. For example all bathroom towel rails are weight bearing.
•  Dementia friendly designs. No high contrasting benches or floor tiles and all signage is in accordance with best practice dementia support.
•  A daily well being check to each apartment to ensure all residents are safe.
•  Underground parking
•  Lifts from the underground car park to each floor.
•  Access to certain health care providers at the village including a podiatrist.

Tim said the focus on ageing in the home was vital to the design of the new apartments. He said a range of support services, including the delivery of meals, will make it possible for many people to delay entry into an aged care facility.

Another key focus in the design was the environment. The apartments have a six star energy rating that includes double glazed windows.

“While we will do everything to ensure people can stay in their apartment for as long as possible, residents will also have access to our aged care facility, Liscombe House which is in the village,” Tim said.

“This new development is a wonderful asset to Victorians wanting safe and secure housing. But it is also part of a wonderful community and we will be doing everything we can to ensure that the new residents are part of what is very special here at OCAV.”

The apartments are beautiful, with lovely, open and bright rooms, and a balcony for growing plants in pots. I am starting to make my apartment into a home.
