A plaque to mark the start of building a community room at Currie Park was unveiled during the celebrations to mark the Association’s 125th anniversary in 1994.

Shire of Euroa’s President Esme Stringer did the honours on a cold but festive morning on 22 May, surrounded by 150 local people, residents…and an astonishing visit from founder George Coppin himself.

Coppin, aka Melbourne actor Adam May, entertained the crowds in a rather ‘befuddled state’, according to Euroa Gazette. Euroa’s Elderly Citizens Band and Ivo Ellis also entertained the gathering which included residents from the Association’s other villages – Rushall Park and Braeside Park.
