National Volunteering Week

May 23, 2023

Pictured here is some of our Senior Managers team planting and putting together the Volunteer gifts The Volunteer gifts were made with love and appreciated for all the hard work our amazing volunteers do.

Abound Communities would like to acknowledge National Volunteering Week (15-21 May)

We want to take this moment to express our gratitude to all our wonderful volunteers who have made a difference in the lives of others. Abound Communities currently has over 200 volunteers across our 4 villages and Liscombe House supporting our residents, staff and contributing to local communities. Thank you for giving because you care and for being a true "Change Maker".

In May we celebrated this day at Leith Park and Rushall Park. The day gave the volunteers a moment to reflect on how appreciated they are. They were given gifts which included succulent plants (kindly hand put together by our management team), certificates, cupcakes, and other gifts. There were well-being and wellness sessions that allowed them to relax and also a beautiful afternoon tea.

We would also like to thank and acknowledge.

  • Bunnings (Eltham) for the soil, pebbles and other gardening items.
  • Michelle Elise for the Shiatsu Self Care session
  • Kylie Olivia for the Mindfulness session

Volunteers who have been with us for 20+ years received a handmade terrarium with bottle babies in them. We would like to especially thank our long serving volunteers:

Bev Ward - 25 Years
Mary McClure - 20 Years
Margaret Finlayson - 20 Years

Currie Park and Braeside Park will follow suit. We hope that you enjoyed the sessions, and we thank you again for all of your effort and hard work.
