Rushall Park’s kiosk is completed, providing funds for the village

There’s nothing like a good cup of tea and vanilla slice to bring a community together. The kiosk at Rushall Park has been doing a sterling job for almost fifty years.
Since 1970 residents have come together to offer morning and afternoon teas, and the occasional lunch. The venue is the popular Kiosk, situated on a quiet lawn near Pohlman Avenue.
It was originally built to keep a supply of basic foods but over the years, has grown into the centrepiece of the village. The idea for the group stemmed from three indefatigable ladies Mrs Rita Less, Mrs Jean Clarke and Miss Marjorie Paice.
The first ‘kiosk’ group was made up of Winnie Williams, Marjorie Paice, Rita Lees, Lydia Freymuth and Jean Clarke.
Today the kiosk opens regularly.
Keith White, who had heart surgery two years ago, reckons he’s better now than he has ever been. He puts his state of health and well-being down to the life he has found at Currie Park, OCAV’s village in Euroa.
